Advantages of Membership to FIAAA
The Feed Ingredients & Additives Association was formed in 2010 to
provide a forum to represent the industry to its stakeholders. Included
in its statement of purposes are the following:
A key undertaking of the Association is to advocate and promote the safe
use of feed ingredients and the interests of the Members of the
Association. SFMCA has tightened its requirements for supplier assessment
and issued guidelines for its members. Membership can serve to
demonstrate your company's commitment to this cause.
Code of Practice
FIAAA has committed to establish, manage and promote a Code Of Practice
for use by feed ingredients & additives suppliers in the use of safe
feed ingredients. The initial version of the Code was published in
February 2012 following extensive stakeholder and member review. FIAAA
has an accreditation program for its members who demonstrate compliance
by means of a third party audit with several members already certified.
FIAAA represents the feed ingredients & additives industry in
Australia to government, regulators and users. It has joined the DAFF-
Biological Imports Consultative Group and the Industry Liaison Committee
It undertakes to adopt, support and carry into effect any measures in the
interests of the industry, and to initiate moves for the alteration of,
addition to, or improvement in legislation for the benefit of the feed
ingredients & additives industry.
The Association provides an opportunity to share industry issues and to
investigate by means of committees of skilled and experienced people,
technical and commercial issues confronting the industry. It has
established a liaison with Europeans counterparts FEFANA and FAMI-QS, the
latter being recently accepted by APVMA as an equivalent to their GMP for
FIAAA has established a website at:www.fiaaa.com.au

There is also a copy of our Code of Practice along with accreditation
services provided to enable members to demonstrate compliance with the
FIAAA holds four meetings each year across eastern states to facilitate
members interaction and discussion. At least one meeting is in Canberra
where key regulators present on current issues enabling useful discussion
The Association is self funding and depends solely on the contribution
and support of its members.
